Wrinkle Reduction
Botulinum Toxin A, commonly referred to as ‘botox’ are injections that use a toxin to prevent a muscle from moving for a limited time. These injections are often used to smooth wrinkles on the face. They are also used to treat TMJ, sweating, lazy eye and other conditions.
The medicine in botulinum toxin A injections is made from the same toxin that causes a type of poisoning called botulism. However, the forms of purified botulinum toxin used by licensed health care providers meet medical standards. These standards were approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. As a rule, the bacteria toxins used for medical purposes are not harmful if used correctly.
At VCI MedSpa we use Xeomin and Dysport. Xeomin uses the proprietary XTRACT Technology to double-filter the toxin. This results in a more purified protein with an active ingredient that contains only what is needed for desired treatnment. Dysport is recommended for clients that seen to metabolize other toxins more quickly. It is also typical to see results from Dysport about 1 week sooner than with Xeomin. Both of these brands have reward clubs that can provide a discount on your treatments. Ask us how to enroll at your next visit to VCI MedSpa!
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are injectables that plump up wrinkles, smooth lines and restore volume in your face, hands neck or body. Our experienced aesthetic nurses inject these substances just under your skin. There are several types of dermal fillers. Our provider can discuss which type of filler is right for you and the area you choose to treat. Some of the dermal fillers we currently provide are Restylane, Revanesse, Belotero and Radiesse.
Fillers such as Restylane, Revanesse and Belotero are made from hyaluronic acid or HA. Hyaluronic acid is is a naturally occurring substance that is already found in your skin. It helps keep skin plump and hydrated. HA fillers are typically soft and gel-like. The results are temporary, lasting 6 to 12 months or longer before the body gradually and naturally absorbs the particles.
Radiesse is a Calcium Hydroxyapatite or CaHA filler. Calcium hydroxyapatite is also a naturally occurring substance, found primarily in our bones. When used in a filler, the calcium particles are nearly microscopic and suspended in a smooth gel. The consistency of a CaHA filler is typically thicker than that of a hyaluronic acid filler and typically last longer as well, about 12 months for most patients. Calcium hydroxyapatite is also reported to help stimulate natural collagen production, and it is typically used for deeper lines and wrinkles.
